Wookie's Clues

When Lucas was 10 months old I turned his daycare art project (which was simply his hand prints in blue paint) into a tattoo. As he got older I would show him his name and birthday and hands on my back and tell him "You're always with me, even if we are apart!"

Around 2 years old, Lucas began to say his name. He pronounced it like "Wookie." He also started loving Blue's Clues. One evening we were hanging out and he was on my back. He tapped on my tattoo and said, "Look Mama! Wookie's clues!" It took me a minute, but I realized he was talking about his hand prints. "That's right Buddy!" I said, "Your hands are on my back." "No. Thems my paw prints," was his reply. For a good two years after that he would randomly tell anyone around us that he left his Wookie's Clues on my back.

Now, at age 6, he barely even mentions or notices his tattoo on my back. My hair is much longer so it could be that he just doesn't see it as much. When his little sister was born September 10, 2012 he did, out of the blue, say "Where are you going to put Keira's clues Mommy?"
